Site description
I can't seem to find an appropriate definition for this word in this context.
Le site comporte plusieurs zones dont une zone en plateau falaise en forte déclinaison au niveau 113 m NGF.
I imagine it means the cliff falls away sharply, but the dictionary definitions don't seem to agree. Of course, I may be barking up the wrong tree entirely! I'd appreciate some guidance.
Many thanks.

Comment: "Thanks - the term came up again later on in the text and it seems they are talking about the plateau adjoining the cliff itself"
Discussion
If cliffs are rarely other than vertical, plateaus can have a tilt.
