brilliant, thanks! I wasn't aware that it was connected to a mill, but this is indeed the Saint-Julien canal, built for the purposes of irrigation. Just found some photos that appear to show the aqueduct carrying the canal water OVER the Coulon - presumably on to the baron's property |
