French term
irrégularisation de certains peuplements

Forestry / Wood / Timber
conservation measure
This is a kind of forest conservation practice. My initial attempt is "ensure non-uniformity of forest stands". Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

achieving uneven-aged forest stands
In reference to the discussion and your research :
even-aged stand : peuplement équien
uneven-aged stand : peuplement inéquien
The "irregularity" probably relates to the age of trees, not the "heterogenous" mix of tree species in the stand (which would be "favoriser la plurispécificité de certains peuplements" instead of "irrégularisation")
