Can anyone clarify what's meant by "accrochage" here?
Les passages doivent être suffisamment larges pour assurer une bonne circulation des buées et fumées et éviter les accrochages (d'autant plus que les températures des gaz et des fumées sont plus élevées).
There are various meanings for accrochage, but it seems to mean "blockages" here and that's one meaning I haven't come across before. Can anyone throw any light on this?

Interesting that gases accrochent and that aeroplanes décrochent. I suppose it makes sense though, given that the phenomenon involved - gas moving through a solid and a solid moving through a gas - are the inverse of each other.
