I am not sure that they mean off the ground; I would think they just mean light as in not bulky and boxy.

overhead architecture
Sometimes the use of aérien refers to overhead architecture. It is difficult to tell from the context what this is referring to, which is why I'm suggesting this term.
Otherwise peekay's answer would be the best way to deal with it.
