Salima Post (asker) Sep 26, 2007:
I should have added the accents to the word "côté".
(...) il y avait un côté blague qui maintenant ne me generait pas du tout(...)
helene_d (X) Sep 26, 2007:
Could the missing accents on "côté" have caused the uncertainty?

there was a joking side/style that now would not bother me at all

...or pranking side/style, depending on the context. Joking is more for funny stories, pranking is usually reserved for practical jokes.
Peer comment(s):

agree helene_d (X) : I agree. And we often read how jokey and prankish old French movie sets could be.

... there used to be a lot of joshing (joking) around me, but now it doesn't embarrass me any more

before I felt uncomfortable with all the joking; I wasn't at ease with them... but now..

you could also say: "it doesn't bother me anymore" "i am o.k. with it" a bit freer

he had a teasing side which it didn't bother me now...

joking could not bother, but teasing could;
it could also be a "funny side" which is not always pleasant...
