French term

ECH

French to English Science Biology (-tech,-chem,micro-) microbiology
This appears in a text describing a sterilization process for medical devices:

Qualification de Performance Microbiologique :
1. DEP interne - produit contaminé par un indicateur
biologique à 106 (Bacillus atrophaeus)
2. Produit fini pour contrôle de stérilité
Validation de l'aération :
1. Produit fini pour dosage OER/ECH/EG

I know that OER is objectif environnemental de rejet (effluent discharge objective, EDO), but I can't figure out ECH and EG, and there is no other context for them in the document.

ethylene chlorohydrin

For the sterilization of disposable medical devices, ethylene oxide gas is used in most cases. When this sterilization method is used, ethylene oxide (EO) and its secondary products, i.e., *ethylene chlorohydrin (ECH)* and ethylene glycol (EG), remain in the medical devices after sterilization.

French term (edited): OER

oxygen enhancement ratio

Wikipedia states:
The Oxygen Enhancement Ratio (OER) or oxygen enhancement effect in radiobiology refers to the enhancement of therapeutic or detrimental effect of ionizing radiation due to the presence of oxygen. The effect is most notable in ionizing radiation dose
Peer comment(s):

disagree philgoddard : The question is ECH, and this doesn't seem likely for OER. I'm pretty sure we're looking for the name of a substance.

I was referring to OER, not ECH, which is ethylene chlorohydrin
