French term

appropriation

French to English Art/Literary Art, Arts & Crafts, Painting art gallery job description
Here is the entire phrase:
XXX travaille les questions de signature, d’appropriations et de répétitions

In reference to an exposition of large installation art in a contemporary art center.
Am double checking this because am unsure whether in this context this should be 'ownership' 'borrowing' or simply 'appropriations'. Am leaning toward keeping it 'appropriations'.

Thanks for your help.

agree David Vaughn : Yes - it basically means copying elements of another artist or of a non-artistic context.
