Escola de Bacharelados de Honra
Do wikipedia:
Under the new British system, and those influenced by it, such as the Australian, Canadian, Hong Kong, Irish, Indian, Jordanian, Malaysian, Maltese, Nigerian, Sri Lankan, and Singaporean systems, undergraduate degrees are differentiated either as pass degrees (also known in some areas as ordinary degrees) or as Honours Degrees, the latter sometimes denoted by the appearance of "(Hons)" after the degree abbreviation.[citation needed]
An honours degree generally requires a higher academic standard than a pass degree, and in Maltese, Singaporean, Australian, Pakistani, New Zealand, Scottish, Sri Lankan, Malaysian, South African and some Canadian universities an extra year of study.
Previously in the UK Polytechnics, an honours degree took one more year of study than an ordinary degree. This still applies in Scotland, but in England most first degrees not leading to professions such as law, medicine, dentistry etc. are now assumed to be honours degrees, although ordinary degrees are still offered by some institutions.

Ver a referência acima.

Honours Program
1. Statement of Philosophy and General Rationale for Requirements
Students who are fully admitted members of the honors college should always keep in mind the most important basis for their participation in the University Honors Program—that they intend going on to graduate or professional school—and that intention should control, insofar as is possible, their choices in developing their individual undergraduate programs. The fully admitted student of the honors college is released from meeting general University requirements for the degree—an extraordinary privilege—and instead shapes a rigorous and individualized baccalaureate program in consultation with both departmental and honors college faculty advisers.

3. HONOURS
‘Honours’ is an intensive year-long program of advanced study with research at its centre. Students take seminar classes and research and write a substantial thesis on a topic they work out in collaboration with a supervisor who is a specialist in the relevant field. ... how to practise its methods by undertaking research of their own.
The Honours year is both a preparation for postgraduate study and a capstone to an undergraduate degree. ..... hones their abilities in research, analysis, and communication, and helps them develop the body of personal and professional skills needed to see a major project though to completion. For other students, Honours is the first step on the path to careers as professional researchers and academics.
