In estimating the FV of the Corporate Trade Name, a variation of the Income Approach, the Relief from Royalty Method, was applied. In the Relief from Royalty Method, the FV of the intangible asset is estimated to be the present value of the royalties saved because the company owns the intangible asset. In other words, the owner of the intangible asset realizes a benefit from owning the intangible asset rather than paying a rent or royalty for the use of the intangible asset.
