Discussion

Dave Bindon Mar 14, 2010:
Possible synonyms in this context Using "demobilization" outside the context of military service is unusual, but not unknown.
"Demobilization" doesn't just have the basic meaning of "ending service" etc. It usually includes a process of reintegrating the person into civilian society, finding a new home, finding work etc.
So, in this case, I think the idea is that the employee is given help to "integrate" into the new country when they start work (helping them find accommodation, set up a local bank account, get a telephone line etc etc); and "demobilization" is the reintegration of the person into their home country after the contract abroad has ended. So, maybe translations of "integration" and "reintegration" are needed?
"Expatriation" and "repatriation" might also be good ideas.
But I'll leave it to native Greek-speakers to come up with the translations.
