English term

gravy

English to Greek Other Cooking / Culinary
I've seen various renditions of "gravy" in Greek. I'm counting this as a 'pro' question anyway because - even though I could translate it easily in a 'non-Pro' way - I'd like your professional (and personal) opinions about the best way to translate "gravy" in a restaurant menu.

The translation is for a restaurant in Athens. Of course, many of the customers understand "gravy" as it is, written in Latin characters. But there are also many customers who don't speak/read English well, and possibly don't know what gravy is. They're the people that the translation needs to be targeted to.

Please try to imagine that you do NOT speak English: if you couldn't even read "gravy" and didn't know what γκρέιβι is, what should the menu say?

PS - If anyone needs more information about what gravy is (and how it's made etc), just ask!
