“白手套”就是别人的幌子或傀儡,或者说只是别人的工具,给人撑撑门面、当个摆设而已。

Not entirely sure what the ideal translation would be. In Chinese, this refers to someone who is engaged in illegal activities or is involved in covering up illegal activities, the white gloves symbolising the attempt to conceal "dirty hands" by covering them in "white gloves". I've posted a link that explains the meaning in detail.

"patsy" means an innocent person who is manipulated by a crook so that the innocent person takes the blame for a crime.
