Oct 18, 2023 10:17: Ester Vidal changed "Level" from "PRO" to "Non-PRO"

Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (3): Eileen Brophy, Pablo Cruz, Ester Vidal

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

asesoría, asesoramiento o consultoría

En este contexto, "consulting" se refiere a consejos que una empresa busca sobre un tema especializado, p.ej. el diseño de un ensayo clínico. No se refiere a consultas médicas.

La figura del consultor y de la propia consultoría farmacéutica ayuda a definir la misión y la visión de una empresa. Le aporta de manera objetiva las herramientas que necesita el gerente de la misma para conseguir los objetivos planteados en su plan

agree Giovanni Rengifo : I think you're right on the money here. Of all the choices you've provided I like "asesoría" the best. I'd use it in plural here, though.

consultando

If it's a medical issue, you consult a doctor or specialist. So I would translate this as "consultando"
Peer comment(s):

disagree Susana E. Cano Méndez : The gerund in Spanish does not work as in English --"The conjuring" = "El conjuro", so "(the fact of) consulting" = "la consulta". // So "consultas", as in Natalia's answer.

It is not a one time activity, so it may be consultando, there is no "The" so it may be a continuous activity
disagree Giovanni Rengifo : It definitely wouldn't work as a noun here.

Consultando isn't a noun, it's the activity that is taking place, as in the original English text. Consulting is not a noun in the original text, it's a verb

disagree Giovanni Rengifo : I beg to differ here. I think "consultas médicas" would be "visits."

You are right, it refers more to assessments.
