Discussion

Dylan Edwards (asker) May 16, 2022:
Yes, I can see 'ZPS' is quite widely used in that sense.
At last I've found a website (ČSOB) that spells it out: ZPS = Zahraniční Platební Styk
Vladimir Alekseev, MCIL May 16, 2022:
Dear Dylan,
I believe that's zahraniční platební styk and has nothing to do with the law. That's specific term used by Raiffeisen in Czech Republic, as far as I know
Dylan Edwards (asker) May 16, 2022:
I've now found "ZPS" as an abbreviation (used by ČNB) for "Zákon o platebním styku" (Act no. 370/2017 on payment systems).
Dylan Edwards (asker) May 16, 2022:
"SHA" - shared costs
Dylan Edwards (asker) May 16, 2022:
Fees for foreign banking transactions, I can see that would make sense here. The second line of the text is always "Příchozí úhrada ZPS" - these are incoming payments, right?
The payments are "standardní, SHA".
Dylan Edwards (asker) May 15, 2022:
Aha, yes, that makes sense in the context.
Roni_S May 15, 2022:
ZPS Since it's a bank statement, I would say ZPS is zahraniční platební styk. I imagine it refers to fees/charges for foreign banking transactions. :)
Dylan Edwards (asker) May 15, 2022:
The phrase as a whole, but a translation of 'ZPS' alone would help!
Roni_S May 15, 2022:
Are you specifically asking about ZPS? Or the phrase as a whole?

liabilities due to foreign entities

Závazky vůči zahraničním partnerům. Not fees charged by bank but payables to foreign companies.
Zahraniční platební styk - forma PS, která se odehrává mezi tuzemskými a zahraničními subjekty, představuje tedy platby do a ze zahraničí
Note from asker:
Thanks. These are liabilities in connection with foreign banking transactions. From the immediate context I gather these are often payments from rather than to foreign entities.
