Arabic term

أوزان

Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (1): Youssef Chabat

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

units of measurement

measurement units
units (usually written in this way)

أوزان in this engineering text refers to the units of measurements while المقادير refers to the quantities in the BOQ.

Any BOQ جدول المقايسة او حساب الكميات whether in Arabic or in English or in any other language should contain columns like S.N. (serial number), description (of work), quantities, units, price and amount.
So let say we have excavation work (for a plot subject to a new project), its quantity 2000 measured in cubic meter. This (m3) cubic meter is called unit for this quantity. We have sometimes units in pieces meaning بالحبة يعني بالمفرد, in running meter متر طولي, square meter (m2) متر مربع, and so on.

"The quantity of work for each list item and the measurement unit. For example, a painting task may be specified for an area of 200 square feet. When measurement units are impractical, work quantities are described as global tasks (e.g. general cleaning) or based on the number of items installed (e.g. 100 LED lamps)."
