English term

scaled

Non-PRO English Other Engineering (general)
I would like to know the meaning of "scale" in the sentence below.

"Annual average daily traffic (AADT) values are taken from the ASFiNAG road section register for the year 2010 and scaled to the duration of the observation period for fire incidents."

I also find "scale" in the table in same paper.

"Accidents with casualties (scaled up to 2006-2012)"

Any comments or answer would be big help. Thanks!

extrapolated

This is going to sound a bit vague because you haven't given much context, but it means something like this.

If the average daily traffic value is 1,000, and the observation period is 300 days, the total whatever-it-is is 300,000.

This is what Webster's says:
Scale
Transitive verb
To pattern, make, regulate, set, or estimate according to some rate or standard: adjust <a production schedule scaled to actual need>

Extrapolate
To project, extend, or expand (known data or experience) into an area not known or experienced so as to arrive at a usually conjectural knowledge of the unknown area <extrapolates present trends to construct an image of the future> b: to predict by projecting past experience or known data <extrapolate public sentiment on one issue from known public reaction on others>
