The star point and sharpened leading edges of the wings help the anchor “break through” layers of hard soil with a
small profile before the large profile of the wings and ***shackle*** encounter the hard soil. The interface between the
anchor and drive steel is a cylindrical hole with a hemispherical bottom. The tip of the drive steel is also hemispherical
shaped to match the bottom of the hole in the anchor. This ensures positive bearing between the drive steel and the
anchor, and it prevents deformation of the drive steel (mushrooming).
