Definition of Unrealized Profit
What is an "unrealized profit"? What is the definition of an "unrealized profit"?
An "unrealized profit" occurs when an asset is purchased and then rises in value, but hasn't been sold.
A "realized profit", on the other hand, occurs when an asset is purchased and then sold for a higher price, thus resulting in a profit.
To best illustrate the idea of the "unrealized profit", let's look at a few examples:
1. AAPL announces strong Q1 earnings and the stock trades up to $245 on the news. John Smith decides that he isn't going to sell as of yet, because he believes that the stock is going to at least $300.
2. Jane Plain purchases a house for $350,000. Over the course of three years, real estate values in the area rise and Jane's house is appraised at $450,000.
3. Jane, who has no intentions of selling her home, now has an "unrealized profit" of $100,000. Jane would have to sell her home to have a "realized profit".
A profit or loss that has been incurred in an investment but that hasn’t been realized yet because the investment hasn’t been sold, which would make it realized. Also called a paper profit or loss.

میرے خیال میں یہاں پر لفظ unreal کے لفظی ترجمے کی بات نہیں ہو رہی۔ آپ کی انگلش اصطلاح کے سیاق و سباق سے بھی یہ بات واضح ہو رہی ہے کہ لفظ فاریکس سے متعلقہ ہے۔ اس کے علاوہ یہ سبھی یہ بزنس، کامرس، بینکنگ کے شعبوں میں بھی مستعمل ہے۔ اور ان شعبوں میں اس کی استعمال ہونے والی اصطلاح وہی ہے جو میں اوپر درج کر چکا ہوں۔ حوالے کے طور پر KSL کی ایک مالیاتی رپورٹ کا لنک بھی شامل ہے جس میں آپ اردو اصطلاح "غیر تکمیل شدہ" کو Unrealized کے نعم البدل کے طور ملاحظہ کر سکتے ہیں۔

let's say an asset presently holds a value better/greater than its previous value when it was purchased, so, it denotes that the said value/profit is currently in an executable state. meaning it can be executed and would yield profit (or loss which may or may not be inevitable or avoidable) but it is not executed yet. hence the terms غیر تکمیل شُدہ or غیر تعمیل شُدہ
