Thanks for the help, Michael and Barend I think "convex-based chambers" would be a good choice (with the context making clear that they are all inspection chambers).

@Ruth As your own reference indicates the function of these 'bolle bodems' (convex bottoms) is:

"De ronde vorm van de bodem voorkomt ophoping van vuil en verstoppingen"

That is, since the bottoms are rounded debris is unlikely to accumulate/stick around in the chamber and 'cannot but go with the flow'.

I don't think it is a prerequisite this function is expressed in the translation and a literal translation as suggested by Michael might work.

Thanks, Phil Yes, I've seen that "putten" and "gullies" don't always correspond, but my client is using "gullies" as the heading for this section (it's already in English in the source text).

The existing website also uses "gullies" as the translation of "putten" in a number of cases, although this can vary when it's part of a compound word.

Some examples from the website:

industriële putten = industrial gullies
afvoerputten = drainage gullies
inspectieput/controleput = inspection chamber
vloerput = floor gully (but sometimes floor drain)
watermeterput = water meter chamber

My research so far indicates that the existing translations are acceptable.

"Bolle bodem" means "convex base". You mention "gullies", but those are horizontal channels - this looks like a well or drain or something.
