Catalan term

entre sorpresos i admirats

Catalan to English Art/Literary Journalism
Bones,

Merci.

Chris Ellison (asker) Feb 12, 2014:
Amid Hi Helena, in fact, that's exactly what I wanted to convey - that we are engulfed by our own feelings. ;o) It fits with the feeling of the rest of the article. :o)
Helena Chavarria Feb 9, 2014:
@Cris I'm not sure about using 'amid' here. 'Amid' means 'surrounded by, in the middle of'. We're the ones who are surprised, not the other people.
Chris Ellison (asker) Feb 9, 2014:
"Amid our surprise and admiration" Ok - I've been looking at the screen for too long - does this sound okay?

...step by step we discover, amid our surprise and admiration, the “[more than two hundred] recorded representations of St. George in the city of Barcelona.

feeling a mixture of surprise and admiration

Nosaltres estem sorpresos i admirats.
Note from asker:
Ahh, thanks! I missed that! ;o)

agree Sheila Hardie : Yes, 'sorpresOs' here is the adjective - 'surprised'. They would have used 'sorpresEs' if they had meant to say 'surprises'.
