Unter https://www.clinicaltrialsregister.eu/ctr-search/trial/2013-... wird der Begriff "limited enrollment" allerdings noch in einem anderen Kontext (Nachbetrachtung) verwendet:
"In accordance with the Statistical Analysis Plan (SAP), due to the limited enrollment at the time of study termination, the summaries and statistical analyses of primary and secondary efficacy parameters originally intended and described in the protocol were not produced."
Hier hatte also zum Zeitpunkt der Beendigung (hier vielleicht auch Abbruch) der Studie nur eine begrenzte (statistisch unzureichende) Zahl an Patienten teilgenommen.

disagree  Steffen Walter: "Einschreibung" is used at universities/institutions of higher education rather than in the context of clinical trials ("Aufnahme/Rekrutierung von Patienten/Probanden"). Your source seems to be the only hit showing this collocation.
