For sure there's a specific term for this, which obviously escapes me.
The idea is to import both source and target txt files to populate a new TM.
Many thanks in advance.

It's generally called "alignment", and if your CAT tool doesn't have such a feature built-in, you need an "aligner" (which will often generate the TM in TMX format, which you must then import into your CAT tool).

Text file to TM in MemoQ Dec 14, 2019

MemoQ can import a tab-deliminated text file directly into a TM.

Open the resource console and choose the appropriate TM you want to import into (or create a new one if you need to).

Right click on the TM and the choose Import from TMX/CSV. A wizard will open where you choose which column of the text file is which entry in the TMX.

Once you have made the settings, just click OK and the import will proceed.

If you have two files, one source and the other target, use the Alignment Editor. Instructions are at https://docs.memoq.com/current/en/Places/alignment-editor.html
