Description
Provérbios e expressões idiomáticas são itens lexicais complexos, cristalizados na língua e de sentido conotativo. Por essas características, sua tradução sempre apresenta alguma dificuldade e exige uma tomada de decisão por parte do tradutor. Neste curso são apresentadas e discutidas, com uma grande quantidade de exemplos reais, as diversas estratégias disponíveis para lidar com esses fraseologismos na tradução. Ao final, os participantes serão capazes de ver como existe uma variedade de possíveis soluções, decisões e efeitos criativos muito maior do que geralmente se pensa para traduzir esses elementos.

Bio: Reginaldo Francisco é tradutor técnico e literário de inglês e italiano. É bacharel em Letras com Habilitação de Tradutor pela Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP) e mestre em Estudos da Tradução pela Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC). Publicou artigos e ministra palestras sobre Tradução, além de ser o autor, juntamente com a Profa. Dra. Claudia Zavaglia, do livro Parece mas não é: as armadilhas da tradução do italiano para o português. É treinador das ferramentas Wordfast e memoQ, oferecendo cursos presenciais e on-line para tradutores.


Reginaldo Francisco is a Brazilian technical and literary translator (English>Portuguese and Italian>Portuguese). He has a bachelor's degree in Translation and a master's degree in Translation Studies. He delivers lectures and has published articles and a book on Translation. He is also a Wordfast and memoQ trainer, providing on-site and on-line training sessions for translators.

Interesting, appealing, informative webinar presented in a delightful way by Reginaldo Francisco.Jun 9, 2017

Reginaldo's webinars are definitely one of my favorites. They cover subjects that are directly connected to my type of translations and are presented in a very approachable manner. This one was filled with interesting, vivid examples and introduced several strategies which will be very useful to my transcreation work.
Reginaldo is a great communicator. Intelligent, witty and very friendly.
