agree  Neil Ashby: After some searching I found some examples where "linear markings" refers to the actual CT scan and not the chest X-ray, as in the majority of cases.

Reference information:
Nearly all mentions of "linear markings" refer to chest X-rays, not abdominal CT scans. I've found a small number of references where "linear markings" is discussed in the context of CT chest scans (not abdominal).

High-resolution CT scan of the lungs shows vessels of diminished caliber and number in regions of the right upper and right middle lobes. However, vessels were seen in all sections. A dilated bronchus is visible near the middle of the right lung, as well as abnormal linear markings in the center of the right middle lobe; these may represent dilated bronchi filled with secretions.


HRCT findings include centrilobular nodules and linear markings that usually are more profuse compared with the multifocal bronchiolar impaction sometimes observed with asthma.
